♥ Torturing my german colleague!

Had lunch with my colleagues at Tiong Bahru plaza juz now. My German colleague who's here in Singapore for 6 months as an intern commented that she doesn't like our local desserts. I asked her whether she has tried any and she said no cos they are all so weird to her!
HAHAHA...

To her, corn & beans etc are vegetables and vegetables & desserts (Sweet stuffs) do not mix. I find it really strange to think that way till she gave me an eg. Chocolate with Cucumber... well, that does sound weird. Maybe we are so used to the idea of corn flavour ice-cream, red bean ice kachang etc that we don't find it weird... afterall, the moment we are born in Singapore, these dessert stalls already exist (i mean my time lah, kekeke...)

ANYWAY! Being the nominated Singapore ambassador in my marketing team, i just had to make her try SOME Singapore desserts before she goes back & start telling all the other germans that Singapore desserts taste horrible... kekeke... my mission starts that very instant...

Since it's so difficult to change her mindset & mental block towards having "vegetables on dessert" i settle for Mango Chendol!

Chendol - or spelt Cendol [pronounced 'chen-doll'] is a traditional dessert originating from Java, Indonesia, but is also popular in Malaysia, Singapore, and Southern Thailand (where it is called lorkchorng singapore ลอดข่องสิงคโปร์). The dessert's basic ingredients consist of shaved ice, coconut milk, starch noodles with green food coloring (usually sourced from the pandan leaf), and palm sugar. Red beans, glutinous rice, grass jelly, and creamed corn are optional additions.
The relative affluence of Singapore, as well as Western influence, has given rise to different variations of cendol. One can occasionally come across variants such as cendol with vanilla ice-cream or cendol topped with durian.

In this case, it's topped with fresh mango cubes! =)

Check out Inga's face when she was eating the green jelly from the chendol, hahaha...
She looks as if i just made her eat bittergourd or something! kekeke... More to come Inga! *0*
